You’re doing what good parents do and scheduling an early treatment orthodontic appointment for your child, but you and your kid aren’t sure what expect on your first visit. Not to worry, we can walk you through what your child first orthodontic appointment with us will be like.
We look forward to meeting you and your youngster at either of our locations. Find us in The Woodlands, TX next door to McCullough Junior High or visit our office in Conroe, TX.
At what age should I make my child first orthodontic appointment?
Make your child’s first visit with an orthodontist by the age of 7 to reap the most benefits of early treatment. Enough of your kid’s adult teeth should be in by this age for Dr. Leiker to tell if there will be issues with overcrowded, protruding, or crooked teeth. But your child will not have so many of their adult teeth that Dr. Leiker can’t intervene with their progress if needed. Dr. Leiker can also begin the correction of major bite problems that could cause your child difficulties when speaking or eating.
What happens at child first orthodontic appointment?
You will be greeted by our friendly staff and guided on a tour of our office with a stop by our refreshment bar. Don’t miss checking out our new arcade game room at our office in The Woodlands, TX. In the exam room, we’ll chat about your concerns and begin taking scans and 3D X-rays for Dr. Leiker to look over before he meets with you and your child to recommend treatment options.
What are our next steps?
Dr. Leiker will advise whether treatment needs to start right away for your child or if your child would benefit from waiting a few months or years to begin treatment.
We can’t wait to meet your family. Call us at 832-510-6678 or use our convenient online form to schedule your child’s consultation today. Remember, early treatment could be the difference between minor adjustments and major orthodontic work.
